Week 18

How Far Along? 18 Weeks

Maternity Clothes?  I've been wearing maternity shorts everyday when I get home from work and have been sticking mostly to skirts and dresses for the office.  I did finally find a great fitting pair of maternity work pants on Friday!

Weight Gain?13 pounds - the doctor said based on my pre-pregnancy BMI I'm right on track

Stretch Marks? None yet - I'm sure these are coming though.

Sleep? Ugh!  It's just getting worse and worse.  I usually wake up several times a night for what seems to be no reason.  I'm just finding it really hard to get comfortable.  I always feel like our bed is overcrowded for some reason.

Best Moment of the Week: This weekend we went away (just for one night because I had to work on Saturday) with my parents and siblings.  We had a great time.  It was also the first time I've seen most of them (besides my sister) since very early in the pregnancy so it was fun to talk about some pregnancy and baby stuff.

Weirdest Comment:  Nothing stands out this week, but I'm sure I'll have some things next week because we're going out of town with J's family next weekend and his mom often makes comments that strike me as odd.
Movement? I don't think I've felt anything yet.  Sometimes I think I may feel something, but I'm not sure yet.

Gender?  We are hoping to find out very soon.

What I miss? This weekend with my family I did miss being able to drink wine.  We went to a winery that I love for dinner and it was a little bit of a bummer to miss out on trying all the different wines and enjoying a glass with dinner.  Of course, I wouldn't trade being pregnant for anything, but wine is a really social thing in our family.

Symptoms: Poor sleep, weight gain, round ligament pain.

Milestones:  Nothing major this week.  I'm still waiting for movement, I think that will be the next big milestone :)

Emotions: I'm actually starting to believe that this will likely end in us having a baby!  It's still almost unbelievable to me.  I'm also really happy and starting trying to stay more relaxed about the whole thing.

  1. Yes, wine is something that is big in our family too, I have skipped the winery tours this summer as I know it would make me soo jealous!
    Glad things are going well!
