Birthday Celebration

Tonight we went to dinner at Fogo de Chao to celebrate J's birthday which is coming up early next week.  It was wonderful.  It's a Brazilian steakhouse where they keep bringing you freshly prepared meats.  You get to pick whatever you want each time they come by.  It's a bit pricey but was really delicious.  It's definitely a special occasion type of place.  There were a few people who had children in there which I found surprising.  I mean why would you shell out all that money for a little kid?  Maybe I'll feel differently when we have kids, but to me it really seemed like a more 'adult' restaurant.  There were also lots of prom goers there too.  I always think it's kind of fun to see what they are wearing.  Most of the girls looked lovely, but there were a few that were wearing very interesting dresses.  Hopefully they had as nice of a time at dinner as we did.

Now we're just relaxing at home.  It's been raining here all week, but seems to have finally cleared up.  I think J is planning to address the water that's been filling up our ditch this weekend.  There's probably something clogging up the drainage pipe which isn't even on our property, but I still hate having a partially flooded yard.  Hopefully he can get it all fixed up.

So, did you watch the Royal Wedding?  I set my DVR to record the 6 hour broadcast and actually considered getting up at 5 to watch it live, but when my alarm went off, I just decided to wait and watch it when I got home after work.  It was actually really nice to be able to fast-forward through the arrival of all of the various guests and such.  Overall, I really loved it - I thought Kate looked beautiful.  It was like a real life fairy tale!

  1. We have a Brazilian steakhouse in town as well. We went once and it is sooo delicious! If it wasn't so expensive, we'd probably eat there like once a month!

I hope you get the drainage issue in your yard cleared up. I had getting even puddles in our yard as the dogs think they are too much fun!
