IUI #1 - Complete

Well, our first IUI is complete.  We had the IUI yesterday morning.  We went together, J provided his sample, and then we hung out for about an hour before my part.  It was quick, but uncomfortable.  My actual doctor performed the procedure, which I was really happy about.  She said everything looked good - so we're just crossing our fingers that it worked!  Yesterday, I was feeling really positive and optimistic about the whole thing, but today I've just been feeling kind of blue.  I think it's because now we're in the dreaded TWW where there's no way we'll know anything at all for at least 2 weeks.  My RE also didn't schedule a blood test.  She just said to wait 2 weeks and take a HPT.  I was kind of bummed by this.  If she would have scheduled a blood test, I would have just held out until then.  Now I'll be stressing about when to POAS.  I'll probably want to do it a little sooner than 2 weeks, but then I'll be wondering if it's too soon to test because of the trigger.  I'm really not sure how long that stays in your system.  Oh well, I guess I'll just try to keep my mind off of it for at least the next 10 days.  Of course if AF shows up before then I'm supposed to call the office to develop our plan for the next cycle.  She also said we could probably call on Tuesday or Wednesday to find out the details about J's sample.  I'm a little nervous about that too - it would stink to find out that the sample wasn't good after all this.  Oh well, I'm sure I'll call because I would rather know than spend weeks wondering about it.

  3. I have not had a trigger, but most people will test it until it is gone (I think about 6-9 days).
Good luck, the 2ww is the worst.

  4. I hope your TWW goes by quickly with a happy ending! My trigger usually hangs around for 9-10 days, but sometimes it leaves sooner for some people. Try to stay busy and keep yourself occupied, but the TWW sucks! Hang in there and good luck!

  7. Good luck sweetie!! I believe the trigger is out after 5-8 days, but I would wait to test until 12dpo, since implantation could happen as late as 10dpo. I think results are pretty accurate by then. I hope you'll need that beta afterall!

  8. Thanks for all your support ladies!

Travica - I thought it was strange too, but it was a Sunday so I figured maybe the lab people who calculate that stuff weren't there.
